THE IDEA — Right now I’m thinking a lot about taste, + what it even means anymore. To me it’s less something you’re born with + more something you build + grow into with age + lived experience. We tend to talk about it like a fixed trait: she has great taste. But I’ve come to believe it’s a practice, a muscle you keep using. It’s in what you notice, what you come back to, + what you quietly decide is not for you as much as what is. It’s lingering a little longer in a gallery, reading the book that wasn’t on every list, + asking why you love something, instead of liking it because it’s suddenly everywhere + scrolling on. Rick Rubin writes in The Creative Act that taste comes from paying attention, from taking things in widely + then refining. That really stayed with me. These days most of what reaches us has already been chosen for us. Algorithms serve the same ten things to everyone, + we start to mistake what’s popular for what we actually love. So choosing slowly, + trusting your own eye even when it leads somewhere less obvious, feels almost radical.

It’s also something I’ve found deeply freeing in some way. You don’t need permission or a perfect eye to begin to know what you love. Just curiosity + a little patience. Everything in this list is, in its own way, my own little practice of that. I hope it nudges you toward yours.

THE PODCAST — This one was a while back, but I found it really interesting + important as a woman in 2026. It’s Oprah’s interview with Kristin Cabot on The Oprah Podcast, about the Coldplay “kiss cam” moment that went viral + what it’s like to have your life taken apart in public overnight. Whatever you thought at the time, it’s worth hearing her side.It really made me think about how quickly we all judge, especially women + how unevenly the blame tends to fall.

THE DOCUMENTARY — I recently finished JAŸ-Z in 8, which I recommend without reservation. It’s a new HBO series directed by Rick Rubin, where he sits down with Jay-Z to talk through the lyrics + a career that’s spanned almost four decades. The two go way back: Rubin co-founded Def Jam, the label Jay would later run as president, + he produced “99 Problems.” The 8-part series is just the two of them, talking about the words, the work + the life behind it all. Really, it’s about what it takes to make something that lasts.

I grew up with those albums, + I loved The Creative Act, which I also hiiiighly recommend if you haven’t read it yet. Honestly, this felt like both in one.

THE ARTICLE — Ok, this one is actually by me, which feels a little self-indulgent. It’s about Ómós, the new culinary + luxury stay here in Ireland, where my husband + I were lucky enough to stay back in June. Just trust me, it needs no words. It completely blew us away. We’ve already been back for dinner + I have a lunch booking coming up. It’s that. good. Read the article here: Checking In: Ómós, Abbeyleix, Ireland

THE MOVIE — Coming up, I can’t wait to see Klara and the Sun, Taika Waititi’s take on the Kazuo Ishiguro novel with Jenna Ortega, out in theaters October 23rd. But of late, I loved Blue Heron. I watched it at home recently on Mubi + I’m still thinking about it. It’s the first feature from Sophy Romvari + it’s based on her own family, a Hungarian family living on Vancouver Island in the late ’90s, told through the eyes of the youngest daughter as her older brother starts to struggle. Then it jumps forward to her as an adult, trying to make sense of it all.

It’s slow + quiet + so, so soooo incredibly tender. It’s not one for a busy night with your phone in your hand (like I seem to find myself with so much). But if you give it your full attention, it really stays with you. I had a little cry, I won’t lie.

THE BOOK — I’ve finished a few interesting books lately, but today I’m thinking of All Them Dogs by Djamel White, the Dublin author whose debut was longlisted for the 2026 Booker Prize. It’s a crime thriller that beautifully merges the crazed + brutal violence of gangland West Dublin with an intensely intimate + unexpected tenderness. Its protagonist, Tony Ward, is searching for connection + intimacy in a world so dangerously steeped in hyper-masculinity. I loved it, + I’m so delighted for Djamel on his well-deserved success so far.

THE WELLNESS PRACTICE — I’ve been travelling a lot this year, + I don’t know what I’d do without my portable milk frother + Monday Matcha. I rate it highly on my endless quest for great matcha, + I bring both with me to make my own each morning instead of mindlessly reaching for coffee. Earlier this year in the US I had an incident with a drink I didn’t realise was an energy drink. Since then I’ve cut way back on coffee + just adore my matcha moments. I love this SISTERLY handheld frother too. It’s perfect for throwing in your bag when you’re on the move.

THE PLACE — I’ve been to some beautiful new places over the past few weeks, but as cliché as it sounds, right now it’s home. I’ve been away more than I’ve been home this year, so being here for this entire month is everything to me. I’m just back from back-to-back trips to the US, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Zurich + Lake Como, each one beautiful in its own way. I feel so lucky to get to explore as much as I do, but one of the deepest truths I know is that coming home is so sweet for the soul.

And this time of year in Ireland is utterly divine. The changing of the seasons + the crisper days are my favourite. Waking up this week to an overnight frost was the icing on the cake. I love knowing I actually need a coat, + getting my winter wardrobe back out always gives me so much life.

THE BRAND — Founded in Amsterdam but inspired by the Côte d’Azur, D’hyères is a jewellery brand steeped in elegance + glamour. I came across it on a city break in Amsterdam late last year + bought a few pieces in person. I’m also excited to be partnering with them on a small project soon, so stay tuned for some beauty coming your way. Until then, go get lost on their website + see for yourself. It’s all sun-drenched Riviera glamour, made for wearing every day.

THE ITEMS — I just ordered this beautiful silk cape in black for an upcoming wedding. This insanely beautiful dress from Reformation is currently in my basket. OBSESSED. The shape + colour have my heart rate UP. I’ve never worn anything as much as my brushed cashmere triangle scarf from COS these last two winters, so this year’s update is this one from Aritzia, + I’m loving it. If you’re in the market for a gorgeous new robe, I LOVE mine from Loome Lifestyle. It’s organic cotton, + the shape is so cosy + dreamy, not forgetting the chic kimono-style sleeves. One last one: I picked up these kitten-heeled slingbacks in Marks during the week, + someone already asked me if they were Toteme. They’re certainly giving. Run for these ones!

THE WISHLIST — I’ve been a fan of Bon Charge for years, + their big Red Light panel is currently high on my wishlist. I use their red light face mask daily + highly recommend the brand in general. And this Celine holdall is right there alongside it at the top.
